You may have heard of the wire fraud scams targeting real estate professionals, but there are more online threats you could fall prey to.

Hackers are posing as agents and brokers and sending emails with links to fake Google or Dropbox links to real estate professionals. Unwitting recipients then provide their private information directly to hackers.

While you should be wary of emails and requests like this you receive, it’s not the only problem to look out for. One agent shares with NAR his story of scammers who didn’t hack into his email but assumed his identity and set up a bogus email account to contact hundreds of real estate professionals with fraudulent emails.
